New evidence is mounting: Vouchers are a very bad idea

A new set of studies show vouchers actually hurt student achievement:

The New York Times first broke the story of three major studies finding that students who used vouchers to switch from public to private schools experience startling decreases in their test scores. One Harvard professor called the negative effects discovered in a study of Louisiana voucher students “as large as any I’ve seen in the literature” — not just compared with other voucher studies, but in the history of American education research.
